We have had 4 days of glorious sunshine. Yesterday was cloudier so colder but today is really warm. It is 16’C at 4pm in the afternoon – really warm for Gullane at this time of year.

It means trees are bursting into leaf; birds are singing the dawn chorus and in the evenings; wild flowers are emerging . It is such a contrast to the gloomy February and March we had – locked down. However HERE WE ARE. Vaccinated, still alive, meeting friends ( outside) and feeling very hopeful. Also very curious . How is this year of lockdown going to affect how we live in future?

Today I saw eider ducks swimming in the sea for the first time this year. I read that eider ducks stay in the area all year round but they certainly stay out of sight in the winter.

I walk the beach and sand dunes every day with my dog. Each time I try to see something different - flowers, plants, birds.
