Spring is on the way. Snowdrops and crocuses are out. Daffodils are shooting up. Buds appearing on the shrubs and trees Thank goodness – although we are still locked down.
Today I heard a skylark singing while walking across the golf course. There are many many in summer but although apparently skylarks are here all year round we never hear them in the cold days of winter. Their habitat must change. It seems to herald spring when they sing.
The buckthorn has been stripped by the field fare and they have moved on. Some of the buckthorn bushes have retained berries at lower levels so still could provide a larder for birds.

Not much activity on the beach yet except for some hardy souls wild swimming.
