We are in lockdown yet again and there is little exciting going on! For my own pleasure and benefit I am going to try and find something interesting or enjoyable every day. There is little of interest to see at the beach – it really is winter – but it is always a pleasure to see the sea in all its varieties.Today I had a lovely walk with the dog through the sand dunes and back along the beach. No other people; no birds; no wind!

Home – A good Skype call with John and Erin( age 6 – nearly 7). She seems very happy in lockdown and her school seems to be keeping them active.

After lunch- a lovely afternoon although cold – I walked the dog again – I am trying to walk more than 5 miles every day ( managed 5.1miles today). Katie then organised us to have a short Zoom call with them – chatting to Gillian and Heather. They are beginning to play together and seem o be having a lot of fun. I had arranged to play online bridge with 2 friends in St Andrews – Mary Forster and Dottie Kennedy – along with Hilary Cochran at 4.30pm. Hilary was at school with Dottie where they were best friends!! We had a video connection which meant we could actually see each other ( debatable advantage!) but we had good fun. Hilary had been very nervous at playing with them but she played really well.

The other good thing today was that I finished reading ‘ The Changing Mind’ by Daniel Levitin. I am planning to summarise his findings as I think they are very pertinent to our trying to age successfully We will certainly try.

I walk the beach and sand dunes every day with my dog. Each time I try to see something different - flowers, plants, birds.
